Hi! I’m Courtney!
Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, I was blessed with being able to grow up living about forty five minutes outside the greatest city in the world, New York City. As I sat in the audience of Mary Poppins on Broadway at age five, I decided right then and there that I was going to be involved in theatre. Ever since that moment, my love for theatre and dance has only grown.
Growing up, I danced at a small studio in the basement of our local YMCA entitled Studio 691. Although my dance experience was unlike many of my friends, I treasure the time I spent at the Y. The Y is where my love for not only performance but for the backstage side of theatre was born.
I was blessed to have been able to foster that passion during my time as a Dance Management major at the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment at Oklahoma City University. While at OCU, I was able to learn more not only about stage management, but all aspects of the performing arts industry, from nonprofit management to touring organizations to the history of dance and musical theatre, and so much more! The Ann Lacy School and the Dance Management degree taught me so much about the entertainment industry, and I am so grateful to have spent my time learning from the amazing faculty and being able to share in their wisdom.
Post graduation, I have served as the Company Manager for Southeastern Summer Theatre Institute. In this job, I was able to make so many new and wonderful connections and serve as the Company “Momager,” as many have deemed me! I most recently worked as the Stage Manager and Company Manager for RWS Global’s production of “Shake, Rattle, and Glow Monster Ball” at Hersheypark for the Halloween season. I created and managed essential paperwork, including daily schedules and operational reports, while supporting training and performance needs, and maintaining a strong liaison between entertainment management and client representatives.
Outside of performing and working within the arts management industry, I love spending time with my friends and family. I credit my wonderful family for all of the amazing experiences I have been able to have over time, and truly none of this would be possible without them! The encouragement and love I receive from my friends and family on a daily basis keep me rooted in my values and helps me to find joy in my life.
